mac exhaust any good?
hey guys I am in need of a new exhaust. Right now I have the fowmaster 2 chambers with 2 1/4 tail pipes. I want an exhaust system that will sound loud and mean. I have never herd the super turbo's from dynomax but people tell me they sound great on mustangs. Are the Mac pro chambers andy good with 3 inch tail pipes. Also will 3 inch tail pipes hurt my performance? If any of you guys know of an exhaust that is really mean sounding please let me know.
thanks. p.s. local track opens up next week .. will post times. |
Do you have an offroad H-pipe?
|
MAC makes a 2.5 cat-back with 3inch chrome tips that sounds great. I have a complete MAC exhaust. Very simple exhaust to install. The prochamber will not make your car loud. MAC makes a off road x pipe for pacifica performance. It runs $169.00 and really sounds good. I hope this helps you out!!!

what is mac's web site??
if you dont know what the site is could you tell me the price of that sysytem with the 2.5 to 3 inch tail pipes and where i can get them at, cause i am in need of exhaust. And yes 1bad89 i do have an offroad h pipe. |
www.macperformance.com is there web site
a better place to go to actually buy is www.mustangwarehouse.com He was great...free shipping, and I told him I was in a hurry so he had it sent directly from the factory. I was very pleased. |
i got the full mac exhaust on my car. the longtubes didnt fit worth a shiz and the welds were crappy and the hts coating they use sucks *****. go w/ the bbk stuff its higher quality. i got a mac throttle body and egr spacer and they are junk too.

I have heard about the problems with the long tubes. BBK, bassani and that stuff are better...but they are also 2-3x as expensive. I can't speak for the headers, but the cat-back fitted on very well and I installed in about an hour (first cat-back install I have ever done....) Just my $.02.
Thanks, DoranW |
I have the MAC 2.5" cat back system with the stock headers and H pipe up front. This is not very loud which is good most of the time, but I was hoping for some more snarl when I want to be more juvenile. The fit and finish was fine, I got mine from Mustang Warehouse also. Nice guys and they shipped the stuff quick and no shipping charges. If you have a sawzall and some good jackstands you can swap it out in a hour or two. Just make sure the ball socket for the tailpipe does not hit the axle BTDT and almost tore my brake line!
