Check Oil light........
if i start my car up and drive like 2 miles or something and turn it off, and then start it back up before its been sitting for very long, the check oil light comes on and stays on
is this because the oil hasn't had a chance to drain back into the pan and tell the low oil sensor that there is enough oil? (yes my oil level is fine) 91GT ------------------ SHaFTed [This message has been edited by SHaFT7 (edited 03-29-2001).] |
need to check your oil pressure.... not the oil level.

If I'm not mistaken the check oil light is for oil level, not pressure. The oil pressure gauge is for pressure. It may just be a bad sensor in the pan. Either that or your engine is all sludged up.
Try checking your oil when it is doing this to see if that is the case. Check your oil after it has set for awhile then start it up and shut it back off after a few minutes and check it again. Keep checking it to see how fast the oil gets back to the normal level. If your oil isn't draining back into the pan quick enough it should be easy enough to see on the dipstick. If that is the case start changing the oil more often and quit using Quaker State http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif ------------------ ICQ# 42269241 Indiana Stangers Association Buy your parts here |
