dfi's

does any 1 have a dfi like speed pro or accels new dfi does any 1 know which 1 is better

I run the speedpro. nothing wrong with the accel either, but the best feature of the speed pro is the WIDE band oxygen sensor. This does a much better job than factory o2s. You can actually tune while it's running without a dyno! I'm not sure whether accel has this feature.

Speed Pro

Speed Pro. Wide band O2 option is the ticket. Just as stated in above reply.

Definately Speed Pro. Its what I am going to put in my car soon.

What the Heck is a DFI?

Hey guys,
Not to sound too clueless, but what are you guys talking about? I take it this "speedpro DFI" can allow you "tune" via a manipulate-able O2 sensor? Any info and where I can get a pair would be greatly appreciated. I really think that the O2 system is a very temperamental part of the mechanical-EFI-computer interface.

Speed Pro

88GT, not to get to complicated in an explaination...The Speed Pro replaces the factory fuel injection computer and injection harness in the car (also some sensors MAP, idle, O2)...Wide band O2 on this system is very accurate...Accuracy close to O2's on chassis dynos...DFI is made by Accel...the new Speed Pro is not really called Speed Pro anymore it is called FAST and is made by Comp Cams now...It interfaces with a lap top computer and is like burning your own custom burned chip...If your combination changes (ex. add supercharger, turbo, NOS) you can reprogram the system for your new set up...the FAST system for a bank to bank (lowest line system or cheapest) with sensors is around $2200...The Force

Torque/HP Gains

What are the gains that you have seen (or expect) from an aftermarket DFI? Is it mostly a "final touch" to fine tune a hi-po setup? $2200 is quite a bit of dough, not that I wouldn't spend that (after my supercharger install) to ensure optimal performance if it is really worth it. Thanks.
p.s. currently looking in this mos MM/FF to see if it is advertised.

Gains of DFI

I seen 3/10 to a half a second in the quarter. But the tunablity beforce you put the blower on the car is there and after and not have to burn two custom chips for the each individual application. There are other injection tuning products that are cheaper like the Anderson Ford PMS. Baseline kit about $750. Not as extravigate as Dfi or FAST. PMS does a great job too.
