TFS valvecover & breather Q
 

Anyone modify the TFS (std height) valve covers to install the
breather apparatus like it says in the instructions...

Would like to see one done, to see the breather you got,
and how it looks, so I know what to get (before I start
drilling into the new covers).

Darius, does the valve covers have punched spots underneath at each end where you can cut your breather opening? I had to do this with my tall motorsport covers also. By using a circular saw/drill at the punched spots it wasn't that hard. Then I just cleaned it up with a file I think...

Clearance
 

DR, you can check you own clearance and make your decision where to drill. Use play dough in a baggie lay it on the valve train and smash your valve cover on top of it. This will make a perfect imprint a give you dimensions of clearances. I've got sheet metal valve covers and I need to do the same to weld bungs in them for vents. Hope this was helpful. The Force

THere are instructions, but NO, the valvecovers come with ZERO markings (or punch-outs). Its not so much that I am afraid to do it... THe instructions say to "...start 3/8" off the letter "T", then drill here..."

Its more that I wanna _SEE_ the new tube and breather element!
What model/brand/cost/part#... THey give part numbers for a gromet and a breather. Is it the openelement filter, or is it the chrome one with the "exhaust-vent"? What about the tube?

Oh, never mind, Summit website just came available again, and now I can SEE the part is like this:

I will try to get a digital pic this weekend.

I bought the TFS unit (they just barely released their own version)and positioned it very close to the stock location in my old cover. The TFS location instructions are fairly accurate. Had to move it as much as possible to clear my strut tower brace.
