How much oil pressure??

What should the oil pressure be for my combo? what is the minimum i can run?

I run the following:

Cold Idle: 50-55 psi
Warm Idle: 35-45 psi
Hard Accl: up to 65 psi or so.

I would expect you're in the same range. Do you still have the stock oil pump? I do.

The minimum oil pressure required to operate an engine safely is 10 psi per 1000 rpm.

For example, you should have no less than:

10 psi at 1000 rpm
40 psi at 4000 rpm
65 psi at 6500 rpm

I checked it out today and it's at 50-55lbs at 2000rpm, and 35- 40lbs at idle (850rpm).i'm sure it's the stock pump. i also checked the compression on the cylinders they are all between 130-145lbs without leaks, the ones i was able to check before the battery dying. I'm trying to eliminate all ican to solve the tapping noise that i've been having problems with.
thanks for the relpies,
thad
