are pulleys a good buy

I was thinking of putting on some pulleys but i dont wont to spend the CA$H if there not going to be worth it. i wood rather tint my windows or up grade the stereo. what do you guys think?

What do you think will give more bang for the buck: throttle body or pullys?

Get pulleys. You only need a throttle body after u have more engine mods (heads, intake etc.) I want some too :)

In my opinion if you have much of a stereo you don't want pullies. My car would not give me enough of a charge at idle to unlock the doors when my lights were on. I got rid of them because they didn't keep the battery charged.

I agree pulleys on my car would discharge battery at idle. and if its a street car and you have ac forget it.

130 Amp alternator

You just have to upgrade your alternator too. 130-140 Amps are available engineered for underdrive pulleys.

That is a lot of money for 6 hp.

Good point, i never thought about the battery. i think i will wait on those. that just to much to sacrifice for 6hp.

thanks

All,
Not too sure what the deal is, but when I put my pullies in I recieved at least "Seat of the pants dyno" of 6 HP, if not more. The only time I notice my amps lower is at a stoplight with everything on (Lights, stereo, ect..), but it's so minor it's not even worth paying attention to actually. Stock alternator too. I haven't tried the A/C yet because it hasn't been warm enough to even try it. I would strongly recommend them. I picked them up from a guy switching to another setup and didn't need them anymore, blower maybe? I got them for $50, at that price they are a dime a dozen. Get them used, if you don't like them, sell them in the classified section here! Best luck, Rob
