Head Gaskets, Header Gaskets, Intake Gaskets, etc

What gaskets are best for headers, heads, intake, and valve covers? I will be installing MAC long tubes with stock ported heads, GT-40 intake, and stock valve covers. I would like to gasket match the intake to the heads. Anyone have part numbers? Thanks.

Go with Ford Racing graphite head gaskets. Fel-Pro 1250's (or is that a Ford part number) I believe that is the big one for intake gaskets. Go with the factory Ford (metal covered with rubber) valve covers. Also if you are going to have your valve covers off then put a one piece Ford oil pan gasket. Those gaskets are so easy to put on and also they do not leak.

Ok, I just bought a set of ported GT-40 heads and I just got done figureing out what gaskets to get and ordered them. For the head gaskets get the Fel-Pro 1011-2 and for the intake get the Fel-Pro 1250. The head gaskets cost me $30 a peice and the intake gaskets where $20. Damn things are expensive!

Sorry I meant if you are taking your whole engine out, if you decide to change the oil pan gasket. I know it is just as easy to put heads, cam, and intake in the car. But if you you were to do it with the engine out, putting on all new gaskets is cheap insurance to avoid a leaks.

88GT5.013.02 - I'm just putting the heads and intake on it with the engine in it. I'm not going to pull the whole engine until it's time for a 347 =) Which header gaskets should I get? I'm going to use the ones that came with the MAC's for now, but I have heard they are junk. Thanks guys.

Mostly it is preference, but I would run cheap ones, like Mr. Gasket header gaskets. Just in case if a header bolt comes out and burns up the gasket you can just get another cheap set. I have used these on all the motors I have put together and have had success. Good Luck.

Had to revive this topic.
What's everyone's choice for head gaskets with stock heads? Model numbers please.

Well either the Ford graphite or the ROL graphites for the heads. I am currently running ther Felpro's with the renforced ring for alum. heads but I am swapping to the ROL's graphites this winter $35.00 a pair. I am also going to go to the ROL rubber valve cover gaskets they will absorb 75% of their weight in oil, I have heard many good things about them, I think my stock metal/rubber have seen better days they are starting to leak on the back side. As for the headers get some thing good, just about everybody has gaskets, but I am going to go with the metal Ultra seals while mine is apart. I also like the Stage 8 locking header bolts a very good investment.
