Will this make a difference?
Ok, I rewired the electric fan today, but I just hooked it into a constant power wire for when the key is on, rather than hook it up so that it comes on at a certain temp. Will this make a difference other than the fan will always be on? Thanks for any responses.

Well, I thought the reasoning for an electric fan is so that you don't use as much horsepower that a regular fan uses to turn the pully when it's not needed (ie, at high speeds) or when the car is cool enough that it just doesn't need it. With the regular fan, it does little to nothing at high speeds so the concept w/ the electric fan is it's only used when it's needed so a few horsepower is freed up.
So with your rigging, it's on all the time which kinda defeats the purpose of an electric fan. From what I understood, The electric fan wasn't supposed to be using any HP from the car since it isn't hooked up to a pulley. I thought it only used power from the alternator/battery. If I could figure out which wire to hook it into I would change it so that its right. Anybody know which wire I can splice this into? Colors would be real helpful.

I believe you are correct, Chris, when you say that you aren't losing hp with an electric fan. Jeff Chambers( Moderator for Drag Racing Central) told me that you need the car to reach 190 degrees Fahrenheit to get out of the computer's warm-up stage too. I hooked up a black wire from underneath the dash(from the cruise control) to a push-button toggle switch. This works great for me.
