Lifter Help
 

I pulled all my top-end this weekend and i have all the rods, lifters and rockers out. Now i know i need to replace the lifters because i found a flat one. I noticed while removing them that the lifters are not the same on both sides, the oil inlet is only on one side of the lifter.
Is there any specific way that these lifters face?? Like every other in and out, all the oil inlets facing the center, or all oil inlets facing outwards?? Or does it even matter??
I looked at summit and saw some crane lifters for 109, is that what i sould go with or is there something you recommend? Thanks for your time.

uhhh, I've never done any real engine work, but from what I've heard, if you are gonna put lifters bac in, you have to put them back in the same place. If thats the case, you'll have to get some new lifters.

You can put them in either way. Notice on the lifter where the oil hole is. It is machined in slightly all the way around. The oil just flows around this area into the hole. Crane or Motorsport lifters will do fine.

Thanks for the info on the direction of the lifters upon install, but does anyone have any information or expiriences on the placing of a new set of lifters on a old cam (not old just not new). What is the break in period on them before the surfaces wear together?? 1,000 miles? 3,000? Thanks for any information.
Also i have a couple of pushrods that are slightly pitted on the end. If I replace just the pitted rods is there going to be any problems with possible length problems between the new rods and the old ones?

Once again, hearsay from me, if its a roller cam (should be on your year) the cam shouldn't really wear, but you may have to replace the lifters, pushrods, or rockers together. That sorta refutes what I said before....maybe you shouldn't listen to me, but you can't go wrong if you just replace all three!
