WOO HOO! Gettin a 5.0 for tha 2.3!!!
I was looking in the paper for a possible donor car and some guy is selling a 302 w/automatic tranny out of Crown vic for $250!!! I called him up and I am going next weekend to pick it up. I'm so excited this is going to be my ultimate project and I plan on doing eveything myself.

sounds like a good deal. I would check and see what the differences are with the mustang motor as compared to the one you are buying though.

Depends on the year. They've run the 5.0/AOD combination in the Crown Vic since about 1984, I think.

Yeah the Crown Vic is an 84 and should fit my stang. I am going to take a closer look at it when I get there to pick it up. It doesnt really matter how many miles is on it because I am having it rebuilt and wont actually get into the car until its been decently modded.

U shouldn't have any problem with getting a 302 to fit in a mustang. Any 302, with the right motor mounts will fit. I'm putting in a 302 out of a '67 mustang, in my '79 mustang. The motors never then '67 but it's all good. It's been rebuilt with only about 10,000 miles on it. My '79 used to have a 2.3 in it too. Then it went to a 2.8 v6, now this.
