2001 Or 2003?

Part 1:
What's the better choice? I own a 2001 Cobra Vert, and just got a price of 38K+ for a 2003 Vert. Is it worth it number one? and which will be more valueable down the road? 40K is a lot to spend!!!!!
Part 2:

I was quoted MSRP at a dealer in MD which he told me would be 38K and change for the conv. I am supposed to go there tomorrow so he can look at my 2001 Cobra Conv with 6,000 miles on it and garaged, which I owe about 29K, and I told him that in advance. The salesman told me the market is good for my car and led me to believe he could take it off of my hands and pay off my loan if I were to buy the new car. Of course if the salesman is BSing me about buying my car, then I'm out of there.

Part 3:

Moment of truth, the dealer offered me 27K, 2K short of what I owe, so I left. Now time to think if its really worth paying an extra 2K into the factor. Of course when I purchased the 01, I financed 100% including taxes, title, and tags. I possibly could rationalize the 2K as the taxes I never paid on the 01.

Of course, I could take3-4K and turn my 01 into something more special then it is.

What to do?

P.S. When I got home from dealer, I polished my wheels, washed the car, cleaned windows and actually changed my headlight bulbs to PIAA and the fogs to eagelites. I love this car.

Just throw on a blower and it will be just a fast as a 03 Cobra for less money.

Yeah buy a Procharger P1-SC or a Paxton Novi 2K. You'll smoke an '03. The '03's are awesome but if you already have an '01 just put your own centrifugal blower blower on it. It would bbe nice to own a car that has a blower and comes with a factory warranty though.

I agree with keeping your 2001. BUT... if you decide to try and make the deal, Demand that they give you a bit more for the 2001 and lower the price of the 03 so you come out even. They are obviously going to try to get around this but if you're good, you can pull it off.

Unfortunately I learned the hard way that dealers do not bargain with you on your trade in value. You won't get very far trying to get what you think your '01 is worth. The dealerships are in business to make money and lots of it. Keep the '01!
