help!! long tube install

 Had to come in and cool off.

I figured while the heads were off would be a good time to switch to long tubes.

How the ---- is one supposed to get the pass side past the starter? I've got the motor mounts unbolted and the engine jacked about 2" and I still can't get it to clear.

Any suggestions from those who may have been down this path would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I went about it differently...
I had the motor on a hoist (new motor), and set the motor on the headers without the starter on the motor yet.

My point, is try removing the starter, then instal the headers (maybe?).

Dave. i helped my buddy do the samething. what a PITA! the starter would help if you have one of your buddies to help. one guides it in place, while the other bolts the header on. that is how we did it. good luck! oh yeah, dont forget to swear!

got it.

man, had to pull off the left motor mount and pry the motor to the left as far as I could to get the header past the starter.

wow. I was -- this close-- to putting the short tubes back on.

thanks

Good to hear that you got them on. I've put a couple sets of long-tubes and equal-length shorties on Mustangs...definitely not fun! After a few times it gets a little easier.
