Engine's

Well the choice of things I could do to my car are overwhelming. (hehe) Wellok, already my engine is stock, and the seal has never been broken with 110K on it. I was wondering, would it be worth it to add an S-Trim, or a Holley SysteMax II kit, or would it just be better to purchase a crate engine? I mean, I love the idea of my friends and I working our butts off to get the engine complete, but then I notice that they have long blocks, like a 302 With aluminum GT-40X heads, and a bunch of other goodies that supposed to pump out more then 340hp. And alone this engine is only 2875, minus the shipping and the work to install it. So what i'm wondering is, would it be worth it to completely mod my old engine, or just go with something new that already has work done to it?

If your engine is still in good shape....I mean mileage is not a good indicator of the health of your engine. Do a compression and bleed down test and see how good of shape your motor is in.

If your engine turns out to be OK I would go with a Holley Systemax kit. It would be much easier to install than a supercharger and more reliable.

well, there are always 2 sides to a coin. on one side you have a crate motor, which is assembled and is usually a proven good combo. it saves time and sometimes money, and its new, which is nice. on the other hand you have your motor which if you build it you can choose exactly what you want, you get personal satisfaction in doing your own work and you know everything about that motor. you have to make a decision on whats more important. in the end they usually come out the same. when i deal with crate motors at my shop i usually tear the motor down and inspect it and give it a good cleaning. the factory makes mistakes.
