Just got the car Dynoed. What gear should I have run in?
 

I got my GT dynoed on Saturday and I probably should have asked this question first! What gear is best for dynoing a 2001 GT?

I ran the Dyno in 3rd, but I'm thinking 4th would have been more accurate. However, in 3rd gear the numbers seem just about right. I've got a stock 2001 GT, no mods on it at all.

I ran with a bunch of chevy/dodge guys and they all though I should have run it in 4th, but the guy owning the garage seemed confused. He didn't really speak english great and he just kept telling me "these good numbers. All numbers same"

I ran 224.5 rwhp and 268.2 torque. I'm attaching the graph.

Mustangs (and all serious performance 5 speeds) should always be dyno'd in 4th gear.

yes, always dyno the 5 spd mustang in 4th gear. This is a 1:1 ratio and gives the true hp and torque curves.

what gear should a automatic be run in?
