Cold aIr

does Cold air induction work? If so can you make one at home for a 1994? Would using a 90 degree pipe attached to your MAFS and than turn out and goes into your fender well work? Or am I just wasting my time. I think I am wasting my time but got bored one nite.

Yes. Not a huge benefit but it helps performance a bit as cooler intake air is always better.

Yes. Been done many times.

Yes. Use flexible plastic pipe from a Home Depot-type store.

No.

You'll have to buy a K&N cone filter to stick on the end of the pipe as unfilterd air will screw up the MAF sensor as well as contaminate the engine. Just measure, buy the pipe, cut to fit, add the filter and you're golden. If you want it ready-made, Moroso sells a economical, ready-to-install kit (with a plastic intake pipe) for about $90.

I also have a 94. I Got the BBK cold air kit with no regrets. I had a shop put it on for me. he said he had to make some minor modifications to make it fit, but it looks great. Everyone told me the Mac and BBK look the same, but the BBK looks much better. I have no regrets. As far as performance, the gains aren't enough for me to notice. You can hear the air sucking in though.

I had the Mac kit on my 91 LX and it went on with NO modifications. I originally bought the BBK but sent it back because it didn't fit. You can fabricate your own, but i would recomend buying a kit like the Moroso or Mac if you want it to look clean and not cobbled together. Your call, good luck.

i have the MAC one and love it! a few people i have talked to said the BBK one had to be cut to fit cause the pipe was too long.

The fox body cold airs look better than the 94/95. I also heard the Mac goes on with no "making it fit"

Can anyone actually feel performance gain?

I didn't notice any change because I swapped heads at the same time. I felt a big difference but didn't know how much was the twisted wedge and how much was the cold fender mount. I have the MAC by the way and it looks great, I had the BBK on the GT but sold it and got another MAC, the look was better in my opinoin.
