throttle body and egr question
 

I have the stock throttle body and egr spacer in my 91 mustang coupe. Do you have to reprogram the computer if i got a 70mm thottle body and egr spacer? I heard this can add some horses but i dont wanna get too far away from stock on my car. WIll these bolt right up and on the stock upper intake manifold without any addtional work?

If your doing just a t.b. you shouldn't see much if any increase in power, but I guess you got to start somewhere...

You don't have to "reprogram" the computer when you swap t.b. and egr. Just be prepared to mop up some coolant when you unbolt the egr (put some rags under it before breaking bolts loose). And its always a good idea to disconnect your battery before getting started.

A 70mm is nice if you plan on some significant mods in the future, but as you stated you don't wish to stray far from stock. So your best bet is a 65mm setup...

If you have a die grinder, it's a good idea to gasket match your manifold (with it off the motor of course) to the 65mm setup and blend back as far as you can go then wash it up real good and bolt 'er back up! Viola! Ready for more mods!

i agree, you wont want a 70mm with an all stock setup. it will take a lot of port work to the upper intake to match it up. and you wont gain any power. you will lose it.

go with a 65mm and port just a little bit to make it work. but dont expect it to make a big difference in power.

what is a stock egr and tb size? I have mine off right now and i am going to replace my stock intake with a polished stock intake and would like a nicer looking tb. If adding larger one isnt really going to give me much of an increase in power i guess it would be a waste as i do not plan to do heavy mods to this mustang. Any idea were i can get a stock polished spacer and TB?

PS....too late about the coolant :)

the stock size i beleive is 60mm. just polish them yourself...

Accufab make a BEAUTIFUL 65mm tb and egr setup...

Smoothed edges and fully polished (that would look NICE with a polished intake, VERY NICE)

You must pay the price and I'll have to get back to ya on that, I do know it's over 200 bills...

I have seen the accufab ones....really nice! but a bit out of my price range :) I am thinking of picking up another set and polishing them myself but what is the best tool for that? Lots of nooks and crannys....would a dremil work? I have never polished alumminum before. ANy tips?
