fuel leak ???

This is the first time I've had an efi mustang torn all the way down, so I'm not sure I got it all back together right... obviously not.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll figure this out, but because it'll be another day or so before I start investigating this, maybe someone will be able to give me a clue what I may have done wrong.

Just had car all apart to have heads ported and intake matched. It's all back together now, the first time I cranked it fuel started leaking out big time.

I just quit, shut the garage and went in the house. :(

It appears to be leaking somewhere around the fuel pressure regulator behing the throttle body. I do remember, when I was re-installing the injectors and fuel rails, that it seemed strange that there was nothing 'possitively' locating the injectors. Could it be that I don't have the injector seated in the rail? I didn't take the hoses off the rails so I don' think it could be that...

Any ideas, or experience from some of you who've maybe done this a few times might help.

Thanks

There is O-rings on both sides of the injecters. They get old and crack if your not careful. I put a little grease on the o-rings to make sure they don't get hung up in the rails or manifold when installing.

If you did not take off the rails and just moved them to the side you may have broke the fuel line. They are plastic and could break or kink if not careful.

Thanks man,

I did remove the fuel lines, I uninstalled/re-installed the injectors and fuel rails on the bench. I didn't notice any bad o-rings but I didn't grease them either.

Hmmm

yeah, most importantly, check all thoses o-rings. Make sure they're not cracked or kinked. I had a feul leak coming from a cracked injector once! Good luck, I hope ya find it!
