HELP! I put my heads on backwards!

I wasn't paying attention and when I put my heads on I put the passenger side on the the drivers side and vise versa. The only problem I ran in to is that I went to put the drivers side brackets on and the hole that the stud goes in is a emissions port, put it has threads in it and they are way to big for it. So what do I have to do here? Helicoil it? or what? I sure don't want to take the intake, rockers and heads all off agian. Thanks

You talking about the crossover tube on the back of the heads? If so, I just plugged them and took my emissions crap off.
Good luck, Jim.

Well, those holes. They are now facing the front of the motor instead of the back. The passenger side head is fine. It's just the drivers side, the long stude that goes into the that hole thats on the other side won't fit because the hole is to big. So all I need to do is make the hole smaller or get some kind of insert. Thanks

Ford carries those inserts. I don't have the part # here at work but just ask the parts man. Ask for the inserts for the air passages in the head.

Do those inserts have smaller threads inside of them? Cause I need the hole for the long stud on the power steering bracket. Thanks

Yes, they're threaded on the outside to screw into the head and also threaded on the inside for the bolts.
