Injector upgrade

I have some extra money to spend and I think i'm going to get a set of 24lb. injectors. Will I have to upgrade my 110lph fuel pump? I already have a AFPR. What kind of gains will I see from this upgrade?

You won't have to worry about your fuel pump, you will however have to worry about your Mass air meter, make sure you get the tube calibrated for the 24's. Good luck

My car is speed density (don't ask why) so I wont have to worry about the mass air meter.

Go for it!!!!

How hard is the install? Will I need any special tools? What gains do you think i will see.

Thanks for the help.

To be honest with you the 24's are going to be an over kill without heads and an intake. Your 19's flow plenty for your app now. I mean if you have the adjustable FPR you would be turning it down with the 24's so low to not run rich it would be like 19's anyway, but it is good if you are planning an intake and head swap soon. But it is better to have too much than not enough.

I have GT40 heads and a Cobra intake. I am also planning on a small blower in the near future.

well, we have the same heads and intake and i have 24# injectors. to be honest, you wont see ANY gains at all. i have my fuel pressure at the stock 39 psi right now and it isnt running rich at all. if you are going fro a blower, you may want to hold off untill you figure out which one. you may need bigger ones... depending on blower.

take care,
adam

The gains you will see are ZERO, and if you are speed density, you will have driveability problems if you install a aftermarket cam, You need to convert to Mass Air, also if you plan on a blower in the future, you would want at least 30lbers and at least a 190 pump.

FYI---Yan88GT and 88Workcar both have aftermarket cams with speed density, and run very impressive times at the track.

Its not the norm but it can work.

How could your 92 be a speed densenty???

USMC302 04-12-2002 06:14 AM

Hey he said don't ask!!!!, anyway, yeah go ahead and go with the 24's, you won't be seeing any improvement in uummph but it will be a neccessity very soon. Kind of one of those things that you hear much out of until they are not enough. Good luck
