New lifters??
 

I have 95,xxx on my lower end when I replace the cam should I replace the lifters. I have heard I should and also that there is no need. What do you guys think? Thanks

I definatly would. Why run old lifters with that many miles on them and take the chance of one breaking and ruining your motor. Even when you get your new cam on the side of the box I am sure it will say WARNING: Do not install this without new lifters. They are only 160 bucks for rollers. Go for it.

Hey 92Rustang, you dont need to replace your lifters on a roller cam. If you want to believe that you do, and it makes you feel better knowing you have new ones in there, Ill pay shipping if you will send me your old ones http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif. Let me know before you throw them out.

Regarless of the miles on them Crane says you must replace them with a new cam. It evens says if you only have a dyno run on them to replace them. Now I sure wouldn't do that but I would replace them with anything over 70-80k on them. The stocks will run to fit that cam. You can get them for them for $100 from Mustang Unlimited and they're Crane. Save your self the hassel of breaking stuff, and even tearing up your new cam.

I just replaced all my lifters because one of them was bad. Now from what i have gathered from agout a month of research is that roller lifters do not NEED to be replaced when changing cam, but in theory because there is two metal areas in contact you should let them wear together. Do this either by replcaing the lifters and cam as a set or let the new cam wear to the lifters for a break in period.
