AOD Question

I put the trans in and it will not shift into OD...Can anyone help?

How long have you driven it with the new tranny? It takes several miles for all of the air bubbles to work their way out of the valve body, but it shouldn't take more than around 5 miles. Double check your fluid levels and make sure everything is fine there.

Other than that, are you sure you have the shifter adjusted right? Is the shifter arm contacting the valve body in the right position?

How do you adjust the shifter right? Fluid level is good. Please explain...what about the T/V cable does that have to do with anything?

to adjust the shifter, disconnect the shifter cable from the transmission, put the shifter in "OD" and manually put the transmission lever in "OD", then reconnect the cable.

The TV cable should be set so its fully closed when the TB is fully closed.

Thanks guys...I will check it all out...but,,,,does the tv cable effect the OD?

If the TV cable is not connected at all, or connected wrong, it can burn up 3rd and 4th gears among other things.
