Widest tire

What's the widest street radial on stock rims. I have 235/60/15's on my 1984 and want to go wider.

255's I think....

Thanks, do the quad shocks get in the way?

I just put some 255/50/16s on my car with no problems and no need to flip the quads. I do have aftermarket wheels that are 16x8, so, that may have helped with the clearance. I'm not sure what the backspacing is on my wheels.

However, I did run 245/50/16s on the stock pony wheels with no rubbing problems. It did look like I had room to go larger than the 245s.

This is only for the back. I've never run larger than 225/55/16 in the front.

I have 255/60/15's on the back with 15x8 draglites and 5.5" backspacing. I was not able to run the quad shocks. Even with them flipped.

i am going to be running 275/50/15 on mine. if you have access to a machine shop (like i do) you can relocate your quad shock so the one end points right toward the gas tank. this tire will start to rub on hard conering, but nothing a little hammering wont take care of
