Where to look for a Fox?

What's up everybody? I had a 88 5.0 for 8 years until my kids got to big to fit in the back seat. Got rid of the car and regretted it everyday since. After 2 months of some serious *** kissing from myself and my kids my wife has given me the go ahead to spend $5,000 on another stang. It'll be a 3rd car so it doesn't have to be running all the time. My idea is to find an 88-93 that has a blown engine. I priced one from Summit Racing that has 345 horse and is selling for $3,500. I can change the oil, plugs, etc. but an engine change is above my pay grade. I've tried cars.com, autotraders.com, mustanggtsupersite.com and fordcarsandtrucksclassified.com but I'm having no luck so far. I live in Calif. so it would have to be from around here. What about changing a 4 cyl. to an 8. What else would I need to change? It also has to be a stick. Any ideas, suggestions where to look? Thanks- Steve

Your best bet is to find the nicest one out there for 5gs (they should be plentiful at that price). Then modify and repair it as funds and the wife will allow.

The best deals are really in the local classified ads, most of the cars in auto trader mag's and the like are premium $$$'s..

switching a 4 to an 8 isn't that bad (i did it once), more or less bolted rite in...

good luck

Do a bit more research on the engine combo for $3500. You might be able to land something better with more ponies. Summit has good prices but there are better bargins. Just check out some places before you buy.
