What is the spec for main bearing clearance

Well, my main bearings are back in and my engine builder (and I) are very happy that everything looks good inside the engine. My question is...what is spec for main bearing clearance? Right now we are at .006 I pray this is spec. Please comment.

Could be wrong, but I though SBF main bearing clearance was 0.002-0.0025".

Hey Jeff! Nice to hear from you again. How's that AOD treating you? Regarding the main bearing clearance, I hope that you are wrong :D My engine guy said that anything between .006 & .008 is o.k. Let's hope he's right. Good luck this season.

No way should you run that much bearing clearance. That's just asking for trouble. I was thinking though, are you sure you don't mean crankshaft endplay? If that's the case those are acceptable numbers.

Yes, I did mean crankshaft endplay. I really need to learn not to rush when posting messages. I read that between .006 and .008 is acceptable for a SBF, which is what you are saying. Thanks.
