Diablo chip vs. underdrive pulleys...
I have heard various things... and I want to hear it from the people that have used these mods.
The diablo is nice because it illiminates the need for mills when I do my exaust. But I heard they are a pain because the company can't burn em properly. How much power should it give at the crank or the wheels (please specify)? UnderDrive pulleys (instead of the chip) ... would it give me more power. Should I worry about the car's alternator or pumps? How much power should it give at the crank or the wheels (please specify)? ---- Other question ... I am running my stock 3.27 gears. When I do my exaust, I expect it to run 13.3-13.4. I may as well run the other mods up here, which I hope will make me see a 13.2. Will this be an issue with my trap speed being to fast for third? Will I need to shift in fourth? |
Lizard King.
Go for the pullies. If the main reason your getting the Diablo Chip is because it takes care of the Check engine light, then build your own (MIL eliminators). You seem like you'd be the crafty type. You can get the diagrams easy enough over the internet, and the parts at Radio Shack only come to 6 dollars. I'm willing to bet good money that with those Times your aiming for, you'll have to hit fourth gear. |
I agree. Go pullies...

Thanks guys. That is what I will do. Pulleys, and exaust.

or you could get gears and make sure you knock of those tenths:D

Hey Lizard,
You can do what you want but, if I were you I'd get the chip first then the pulleys ! The chip will take care ofthe MIL's because of the off-road H-Pipe but if you don't plan on going NOS or Boost, it will also bumb up your timming. I beleive that you'll benefit more from the chip then the Puleys! |
