275/40 fit on 17x8??
 

will 275/40/17 fit on a 17x8 wheel? also, would this tire fit on a fox body gt? thanks

it may actually fit, but the tire is way bigger than your rim. this is not good for handling! if you want 275's I'd suggest a nine inch rim. HOWEVER, I do not know if a 275 will fit. I wanted 275/35/18 in mine but settled for 255's.

275's are too much for an 8" rim.
Go with 255's instead, and they will fit much easier.

I got 275-40-17's on 9-1/2" wheels on all four corners, but that took some _serious_ work!

if you're going to run nittos, then it'll work. nittos run a little smaller than other brands. i've run nittos 275/40-17 on my 17x8 rims for the last 17,000 miles with no problems.
