Disc brake conversion

Hi, I've got a '65 Mustang that I want to convert front drum brakes to disc. I've heard that there are some later Ford cars like the Torino or Granada that had disc brakes and their axles could be used on the 65 without a lot of problems. Anyone ever made such a conversion?

I am just finishing my conversion this week. My 66 was a 6 cyl coupe that I was converting to V8. My source car for the brake conversion (not the engine)was a 77 Maveric with a V8. I swapped out the rear axel and am now doing the front disk brakes. (I obviously wanted 5 lugs all the way around not just on the front.) It has been increadibly simple compared to how hard I thought it would be. My source car had just been worked on prior to getting junked (1 week in the yard only) so it had all new rotors and brakes. Lucky me. There are several places on the web that can show you how to do it including www.mustangsteve.com. Good luck.

My buddy jsut did his front end. He bought the SSBRAKES kit, its real nice. Nothing worng with getting used parts though, I do it all the time. It's a real nice kit. Real straight forward install. Big rotors and 4 piston calipers to. Dont wanna worry about brakes when you need em. His email is jtc_80@hotmail if you wanna ask him some questions. Tell him you got it from Brad. He knows what hes talkin about, hes real smart on the older cars.
