Going to the track, need advice please

Well Wednesday night I'm heading to Lebanon Valley in NY with a bunch of people. At first I was going just to watch but I may run the Mustang cuz it's not everyday I go to a track, ya know. What I wanna know is the best way to launch it at the track? I've tried power braking and just straight out punching it, either way it seems pretty slow to me, it does nothing until atleast 3000rpm. What's my best option? I was also thinking of icing down the intake before I run? Any suggestions would be appriciated, Thank you in advance.

Matt

With it being a v6 and 2.73 gears it will lauch slow no matter what. The power band soes not start till 3000 rpms. Just make sure your timing is good. Most important tell us what your times where.

With OD off should I shift manual or not?? I don't really feel a difference between the 2 but maybe there is.........Any suggestions?? Octane Boost?? Check all the fluids of course......I'm gonna have less than half a tank I know that. Top is gonna be up, windows will be up........What else?? How would I check the timing?? I'm not too familiar with the car yet.........

I would say shift. 89 octane. You have no distrobator so you can not change timing. Windows down should cause drag. I would keep them up. Lights off and radio off. Good luck./
