Groupounder lower control arm install

It looks pretty simple but is there anything I should need as far as special tools (i.e. spring compressor)? Can anyone give me a rough summary of instruction on how to take this on, I've got to eliminate my wheelhop... its pretty bad without quad shocks.

Thanks,
Leo

if i was to do it again i'd rent a spring compressor for sure, especially after one of my springs almost took my leg off http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif you could aways chain it back to something though, but Autoze rents stuff like that and gives you every cent back when you return it so thats the way to go, everything else is pretty straight forward, good luck with it

You don't need a spring compressor. Use lots of penetrant on the bolts, let them soak for a while.
Put the rear of the car on jackstands.
Support the diff with a floor jack.
Remove the 2 bolts that hold them in.
Now put it back together the same way.

mine were a biatch because my bolts were rusted to the metal sleeve in the control arm bushing. A Texas car should not have this problem.

Careful with those ground pounders, my friend broke one of those things in half like a toothpick... On a 11.90 Tremec car, I guess they started making them out of different metals and the earlier ones were weaker. This was about 6 months ago. Good luck with the install.

My 95 Cobra is for sale on the classifieds, the corral, and autotrader.com... Please pass the word, email for pics and specs
