'86 GT Overheating Problems
I was driving along, and I noticed that the car was overheating. I pulled over and it was smoking and my radiator [lower] hose was busted...
I replaced it, drove off, and the leaking stopped from that spot. A few minutes later, the car was still overheating. I checked the oil level, and it's fine...the antifreeze level is also fine. Any suggestions?? |
did anything get in the hose and inside when it busted, something blocking the flow of the water is the only thing i can think of.

Don't think so
I don't think so, the hole was very tiny

mine did that and i went to a 180 degree stat...keep an eye on your your oil color...i finally found that i had a warped head on my drivers side....i went thrpugh 3 sets of head gaskets...alot of work for such a little thing lol....and also make sure you bleed your colling system off..if there are any air bubles in it your temp sending unit will send a false reading...hope this helps...

Thanks
As of the last couple of days my car has been running fine, go figure. I haven't gone on any long rides yet but as I become more confident I will go farther.
I will definitely keep an eye on my oil thanks for the tip. |
