EEC number question

As I travel down the MASS Air conversion road I retrived what I believed to be the correct EEC computer from a junker. When I returned home with it it had an extra digit not in any of my literature. Anyone have any ideas about this extra digit in red below?

I though I had retrieved a
E9ZF 12A650 AA
on further inspection it turned out to be a
E9ZF 12A650 A2A

Any helpful ideas appreciated.

I don't know what the "red" number indicates, but you said you converted, and I do have Motorsport part numbers for the conversions and what they "fit"

M-9000-A51 1986-88 Mustang 5.0 EFI HO - Manual trans
M-9000-B50 1986-88 Mustang 5.0 EFI HO - Automatic trans
M-9000-T50 1987-95 F-series truck 5.0 EFI Truck - Manual trans
M-9000-T51 1987-95 F-series truck 5.0 EFI Truck - Auto - AOD ONLY!

These are part numbers for the "Kit", not just the computer, but if it is a "motorsport conversion' this will nail it down.

I suppose this will only help you if you bought an actual Motorsport conversion kit, but thought I'd try, I just love the "MAF Conversion" topic!

Can you give is the 3 digit code off of it? Is it A9L, A9M, A9P?

That part number he shows is the A9L

Yep A9L it is. Still confused about the A2A thing, but I am gonna install based on it being an A9L.

Thanks for the help.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery first.:)

as long as it's an A9L, then you should be fine! Happy MAF motoring:D
