Heim joint rear end?

My buddy is running 11.20's naturally aspirated, he says he's going with all heim jointed rear end pieces, I understand this will "free' up things, but whats the big advantage, he says this will carry him into the high 10's.

I didn't even know such a thing was available for a Mustang. The rear end (and front end, actually) in our Sprint car is all done with Heim's. They are light weight, easily adjustable, and friction-free, BUT, they break easy.

Take care,
-Chris

Chris, my buddy is sponsored by Anderson Ford Motorsport out of Illinois, my old stomping grounds.

Rick Anderson's brother Ronnie Anderson has a high 10 second natural mustang, he is the one who told him to do this. Whether there is an actual "kit per say" i doubt, this is most likely going to be a custom thing.:)

Are you referring to the upper and lower control arms like these?

Ron Anderson runs in NMRA Pure Street which requires a suspension with stock mounting points. Control arms and spherical bearings for the uppers is all I can think that you would be referring to.

These are my Wolfe uppers and lowers that are going on my 88.

The solid units are adjustable, and alot stronger!

Must be, especially if those are the rules. My friend that I referred to, his name is Steve Ross, runs a black 89 hatch.

How is pure street doing anyway?

GTSR That name sounds familiar, did he run NMRA last year?

Pure Street is a neat class. I like the N/A classes. Carbs are legal so thats another plus. I'm not sure when my car will be ready. I have lots of stuff bought for it, but i'm still another 10-12k away.
