99+ GT?
I need opinions guys. I'm trying to decide if these cars are worth buying. I just recently lost my final 2 pts on my license so insurance might be a little more bearable. I'm 20. Are these cars worth the cash? I currently own a 90 GT and have had an 87 LX as well. I was extremely happy with both of the 5.0s but I'd like to step up to something a little more technologically advanced. As well as something that noones owned. I'm hoping they're as receptive to mods as the 5.0s are. Thanks. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

Are you asking whether we think they are worth the money?
The average well appointed 5spd hardtop GT will set you back about $24,000. Whether or not it's worth it to you is dependant on a bunch of different details. Can you fix your cars yourself? Do you want a warranty? If you have a warranty, will you wind up voiding it anyway? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif That one is particularily interesting food for thought. I think they look awesome, they are damn good in stock form, they respond to some pretty simple mods like gears quite well, and they respond for forced induction very well. I don't think I would buy one over a '99 DOHC Cobra, but it's all up to you. The cars are worth whatever you are willing to pay for them. Are they a good car? I think so, I love them. |
Hell yah I'd void the warranty. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif Thanks for the info, though I think I'm gonna stick with my 90 and just put the money in the engine that I would spend on the 99+GT.

Ya, put the money in your current stang, and with that much money, don't just put it in the engine. You could have a VERY nice car with that much, or even half what the new GT would cost.

Yah Dino, I'm going to spread it out nice and even. Going to restore the rest of the car, get the motor rebuilt with good heads, intake etc and then go for the tranny, driveshaft, and a few suspension things. The 99 GT's are really nice cars, but there aren't many good looking older foxes around anymore. Atleast not where I live. Thanks for the advice guys.
