Clutch, cable & quadrant
I'm about to replace the clutch in my 92GT, daily driver. I'ts stock except for a K&N, MAC equal length headers, Hurst, FRPP 3:55's and aluminum driveshaft. At 63K miles it's starting to slip and I'm going with the King Cobra clutch and FRPP quadrant & adjutable cable. For the bucks I think it's the way to go. What do you all think?

Go for it! That is the same setup that has been in mine for over 2 years w/ no probs (actually, the clutch cable/quad has been in for 4 years prior clutch was the old Ford Motorsport 500ton pedal pressure kit...King Cobra is a great improvement). I have burnt it more than once at the track hitting 3rd and to say the least it is a very forgiving clutch set. Hope this helps!

I just went with the Heavy Duty clutch kit from D&D and I love it. It's supposed to have 10% more holding power than the king cobra, and though it does have a little more pedal effort I'm happy with it. In my opinion, it's definately worth the extra $10.
I don't know how the king cobra feels, but I don't like a soft clutch. ------------------ 90LX Ragtop. Strut tower brace, K&N, 2.25'' Flowmasters, Hollow cats, Crank pulley, Crane 2031, Crane rockers, Holley FPR. Need Gears Bad!!! |
Look into Steeda products. I put a firewall adjuster on my car, so you don't have to crawl under the car the adjust the clutch. It is only like $45 and will work with most clutch quandrants (I have the svo one and mine works with it). I have the heavy duty clutch, and I hardly noticed a difference between the pedal efforts of this clutch and the King Cobra, and I have a very bad knee.
