what gears are in a stock 98 gt? i am thinking of changing out my gears. leaning towards 3.55's. i travel about 20 miles per day on interstate minimally. it will be a couple of years before i add anything major like a blower, or even nitrous. probably will never add nitrous.

Don't quote me, but I think the 98 GT's came standard with 3.08's (manual). The auto's had 3.27 I believe. My bud's 98 GT 5speed came with a factory optioned 3.55 rear.

My 5-speed came with the 3.27 (option).

what revs should i be turning in 5th at 70 mph with the appropriate gear set? i am turning just about 1900 in 5th at 70. first gear winds out to about 42, second to about 78, third to about 112. never wound out 4th or 5th (yet).

basically i am trying to figure out what gears i am running so i know where to begin
