It refuses to line back up with my headers.

What gives? It came off fine. This is really pissing me off.

Just unbolt the H pipe from the rear portion of it, fanagle it on the headers. Should be easier to get it back on from the rear part of it since the mufflers/flowtubes move a little more than the headers. Also, if you've recently lost/misplaced a bracket, that might have some effect on the fitment of the H-pipe. :)

Cut off one of the h -pipe hangers from the h-pipe, on one side only. You dont need them, and it will slide right in.

I know what you're going through Sky, The H-pipe can be a real PITA!! The easiest way I found to do it (which still wasn't easy) was to unbolt the headers from the heads, and then bolt them to the H-pipe and then wrestle with each side and get the first and last bolts connecting the headers started. After that you're fine.

When I tried to just connect the pipe to the headers while they were still on the heads, I would get all done with it, and then fire it up and it would leak at the flange(s), so then I'd have to start over again. I wound up cutting both my hangers too and it didn't really help as much as I hoped it would.

I'm not sure which way you're trying to do it. The last time I did this, I was SERIOUSLY considering just going to an exhaust shop and asking for straight dual exhaust!!

If you over torqued your h-pipe clamps, preventing the pipes from spinning within themselves somewhat when the clamps are loosened, cutting the hangers isnt going to help you as much, for obvious reasons. If you just snug down the exhaust pipe clamps, so the pipes will still rotate, but not come apart, when the clamps are loosened, cutting the hangers helps a lot.
