Funeral for a friend...

A close, close friend of mine died today. Some of you may know her.

My beloved Mustang Danielle was killed today, at appx. 8:10PM, EST. She was pronounced dead on arrival of State Police units.

She was the victim of poor driving, and the resulting rollover was a blow from which she had no hope of recovering. She will be loved, she will be missed, she will be remembered evermore with each passing day.

Amen.

The viewing will be tomorrow morning; pictures to follow shortly thereafter.

Wow, no good. You okay physically?

Jeb_Bush_2000 05-30-2002 10:35 PM

Yup, just a couple of scratches.

Man, that sucks. I've been there. I flipped my car last August. It's the most painful thing I've ever gone through in my life. I guess maybe that means I have had a pretty easy life in my 17, almost 18 years. But that car meant everything to me, I was very emotionally attached to it.

I know you probably don't want to type it our right now, but when you get around to it let us know what happened.

Glad you're ok.

I'm sorry to hear that... I hope you're ok! It's a hard thing.
I was in a rollover accident once, woke up to the car flipping over and over 3 times.

On the loss of a Mustang

Jeb:

So sorry to learn of the loss of your Mustang, 'Danielle', in a wreck.

As die-hard 'Stanglovers we all share in the sadness of your loss today.

Treasure the memories of the time and the fun you had with her and look forward to new Mustang adventures to come.

Glad you're O.K.

Mustangbelle306 05-31-2002 01:44 PM

Are you keeping the body? If I wrecked Shiloh, I'd build a shed just to keep her remains...my baby is not an organ donor!!

I'm sorry for your loss, if there's anything EVERYONE on this site can relate to, its the amount of work that goes into our cars, regardless of displacement. :(

MTU 50 05-31-2002 10:24 PM

Unfortunately, I've wrecked (rolled) a Mustang too.

It sucks. So much hard work just to get the car, not to mention all the care put into it, and one patch of black ice took it all away.

At least your okay. I was too and I kept telling myself that is whats important. Still sucks though.

Sorry to hear about that. :( It's hard to loose a loved one. And I know saying you can replace her won't help but there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's 12:30 in the night (or morning if you must) but I will start my car tommorow and have a 30 second idel of silence (not really that silent) in memory of Danielle.

Take care of yourself bud,
§am.

Man I'm sorry to here it. It's always hard to lose a loved one....

Jeb_Bush_2000 06-01-2002 12:05 AM

Thanks for your support and wishes of good will, everyone. I know I haven't really been a "contributor" to MW, but I've always felt that despite the occasional flames, this is one of the friendliest and most helpful 'Stang sites around. I can only imagine what sort of response I'd get on the Corrall.

I was supposed to check in with the garage today, but that fell through, so now I'm not sure when I'll get to see her. There WILL be pictures posted; not to shock anyone, but rather as a testament to the sturdiness of the Fox platform. Yes, Danielle was petite, but she took a bullet for me. The veteran trooper on scene (19 1/2 years with MSP) said he was shocked I survived. The rookie that arrived couldn't believe I was the driver. He thought I was riding with the first trooper. :p

Unfortunately, it's likely I won't be getting another Mustang for at least 4-5 years. I had always felt sort of bad that I was keeping a "rare" car out of circulation, when I really did nothing to modify it. She would have made a killer bracket racer. :( So now it looks like I'll just be getting some cheap transportation. If any of you MA folks see a kid in a white Crown Vic giving you a thumbs up, toss me a rev. I need my weekly 'Stang fix. :D

Pics of the aftermath.

joe4speed 06-03-2002 12:31 AM

Wow... I just saw the pics... Ouch... I'm glad you're ok! I know how you feel.

What exactly happened??

rbatson 06-03-2002 11:39 PM

Most importantly, you're ok. That was a nice car you had there. I hope you can figure out a way to get another.
