Stock alternator pulley ?
I've got the March UD pulley kit currently, as I've mentioned before, I've got a charging problem (will be looking into electrical power drain gremlins too). Instead of going w/ a 130 amp alternator right now and instead of going back to all stock pulleys, I'm thinking of just getting a stock alternator pulley. My question is, do I have to go to a Ford dealership for it, and what belt do I need??? Thanks guys.

Just go to a junk yard and get one if you don't have your orig.
Youur belt should be OK but if it not just go with a belt that is around an inch or a 1/2 inch shorter. |
Thanks SB89. If I can't find one at a junkyard, would the dealer be able to order it???

March makes a "power & amp" series alternator pulley, that is smaller than the stock one, which spins the alternator faster, which eliminates charging problems with thier underdrive pulley kits. Call em up, iM sure they can sell you just the one pulley. And then you can keep your underdrive pulleys on, and still have stock alternater speed.

I agree with Mach1. Give them a try if you dont find one at the junkyard. On the early(79-86) 5.0 mustangs I have found that the alt. pulley is very small and will work great with under drive pullies. As a matter of fact I have 2 of them sitting in my garage.
