Brake questions
I am swapping 5 lug rotors onto the 88. It is a 4 banger car now but I have stock 90 lx 50 spindles for it. I am getting 5 lug Lincoln Rotors, 73mm SVO calipers and high perf pads and braided stainless lines. Do I need to also swap the brake booster from the 90 model as well or will the 4 banger booster be enough? This is a drag car so brakes on the big end are VERY important. I also have the 8.8 to go for the rear and the brakes are bigger on that end so Im thinkin I need the bigger booster but I want to make sure before Ido alot of unnecessasary swapping. Also when I put the 5 lug rotors on the spindles, I just need to get new bearings and seals for a 90 model Mustang Lx 5.0 since the spindles are from that car or do I need something special from a Lincoln.

Well, you will need more force..... so you are adding bigger parts.... so that means you will need a bigger booster to push every thing. I would use the bigger one.

Cool thats the answer I was looking for. I thought I would need to change it but didnt wanna make any changes that arent needed. The bigger booster obviosly weighs more to but oh well.

Would you rather add a little more weight and be able to stop? or have you stang weigh less and crash? :D

Don't forget the master cylinder either! I did this conversion on my '90 GT (SVO brakes up front and T-bird discs out back) and added the SVO master cylinder. The booster is stock '90 GT and works fine with it - the pedal is a bit firmer but no problems. Some guys use the boster from the '93 Cobra or the '94-'95 GT and have good results. I just didn't want to chance it - it's a pain!
