Horsepower estimates

O.K., i've finally settled on an engine combo for my new car (91 GT), here it is:

Trickflow twisted wedge heads
Trickflow cam (.542 in. intake/.563 in. exhaust; 286 intake/294 exhaust duration)
24 injecters
C&L 73 mass airflow sensor
255 intank
1.6 roller rockers
holley systemax intake

What kinda horsepower should I expect?

I would think 310+rwhp...that is a nice combo. That thing should really fly I would expect low 12's in the 1/4 with that combo.

Good luck,

Sup man. I think you'd be beter off w/ the track heat intake. The holley intake is a big intake and to me isnt suited for a street 302. Make sure you gear accordingly, I think 410's are best for that combo. Thats the TFS stage 2 cam, right? There was a guy on another site w/ that exact combo and made 321rwhp and if I remember correctly, it wasnt 100% fully tuned. I'd also look into a bigger maf, if you like c&l, go w/ the 76mm maf. May want to consider 30lb injectors too. Maybe i'll give you a run on the ave:cool:

I already got the Holley off my white stang, I was going to install the 185's off of it too but i need to notch the pistons. I don't have the time/money for a job that involed now. (the rings/ head gaskets/ bearings are finished on the white car). I sold it to someone who needed a project. I was going to get the 165's but the trickflow heads flow just as much, and allow 2.02 valves with high lift cams, and are $300 cheaper.

I have 3:73's in the green stang now and full length headers. I think i will go with the bigger C&L. I have heard of some noticable gains with the C&L units. And yes that is the stage 2 trickflow.

Do you have that web address?

hope to be showing you my tailights soon, ;)

There was an article in MM&FF where they built a 417 HP 302 and used 24# injectors. They also used the trickflow R manifold and AFR 185 heads. So i think the 24# will be enough.

Get the 76mm C&L, and get 30 lb. injectors, 24's suck, they are innacurate, barely better than 19's, and offer no room for future mods.
