oil pressure sending unit ??

i just bought an autometer oil pressure gauge for my 91lx 5.0 and i want to keep my stock gauge as well. I need to know if they make a t-splitter for this? I probably can make one but i thought i would get a second opinion. Where is my stock one located? i located what looks like it mounted to the side of my oil pan but i am not sure this is it.

any ideas?

thanks

the one on the side of the oil pan is just the dummy light for low oil level. the sending unit should be in the lower part of the block, driver side, just above the oil filter.

great now i just need to know what the best way is to make a t-connector so that i can have both hooked up. Any ideas?

well, your stock gauge should be electric with a wire coming off the send unit, but the auto meter should have a plastic line that fills with oil? (at least mine does) so its a different set up. one is a manual gauge,(usually more reliable, thats why you bought it), one is an electric guage, you dont need it any more. I dont know of any way hooking both up without manufacturing something to accomodate both hookups.

I used a t-fitting fromm the local auto parts store. Easy enough. Just make sure to use teflon tape so it doesn't leak.

BTW.. I just noticed there's a "scole" and a "scale" on the first two threads... LOL I'm easily amused! :)

It depends on what type of Autometer guage that you have. Is it electrical or mechanical? You can run both if it is electrical.
