down shifting after rebuild??
 

I rebuilt my t-5 tranny a couple months ago
after the rebuild it performed well
Now for some reason after getting off the higway I can't down shift directly into fourth gear, I can go to third then fourth with the clutch in
also around town all other gears work exactly like they are supposed to
why can I not go directly from fifth to fourth??

It won't physically go into fourth ( like hitting a stop )or does it grind when downshifting into fourth?

it won't physically go into fourth
the thing has never ground once into any gear including reverse since the rebuild
it will go into fourth if I even just take it out of 5th then all the way to the left in neutral and then back into fourth
the only thing I can't do is a quick down shift directly into 4th

it's not a real big problem, it is just irritating that it's not quite right
