Nitto drag radails

How much better are the 555R's for traction. If i have a car making 245 RW horsepower, will I be able to dump the clutch at 2000 rpm, 3000, or still have to feather the clutch?

I have 245/50/16 Nitto drag radials and I have to launch at an idle or I wont move. Launching at an idle I spin all of 1st, part of 2nd and chirp 3rd.

They did make me more consistent though I pull 2.0 60ft's all day long.

They are a good tire but I cant dump the clutch at all.

Hope this helps

I am more concerened with consistency anyway. I just started to braket race, and am having difficulty running the same numbers with my street tires. Anyone else benifit from these tires?

Dark50 - from your sig, it does not look like you are set up for Drag racing. That is, if the only thing you have done to your '88 is lower it 1.5 inches...this does not help weight transfer to the rear. I realize you have a 306 with head work, etc. but I really think your suspension is causing your traction problems.

My car is lowered with removed front sway bar and steeda sub frame connectors.

On Nittos I pull 2.0 60ft's
On my slicks I pull 1.7 60ft's

Your right its not an ideal set-up but it works for me.

I agree - those are great 60ft times!
