60mm to a 65mm...Worth it??

I believe that the throttle body is the bottle neck in my set-up right now. Have any of you noticed a drop in ET after the throttle body swap. If it will knock off a tenth then to me it would be justified.

Thanks,
Later.

Then I'd have to say it'd be justified. :D

TB squeeze

With your ported E7 heads and aftermarket intakes you're overdue for a 65mm TB. Get it.

Dark_5.0 06-10-2002 03:32 PM

Anyone have a 65mm TB that they want to part with???

gtsr515 06-10-2002 08:46 PM

A 65mm throttle body alows 10% more air over the 60mm, you should have gotten that along time ago. But it will never yield a tenth in the quarter, except maybe on a high-line blower/nitrous/turbo application.

Definetly get it and make sure you get a 67mm EGR spacer or hog your own if it will take it. :)

One thing, are you still Speed Density?

LX XLR8R 06-11-2002 08:38 AM

you should of grabed the one no the explorer..they come with them if i am not mistakin..someone correct me if im wrong..yes it is worth it..what rpm is the power dying down at..about 5600?id grab one..just dont even think of getting a 70mm..too big equals no bottom end power

Dark_5.0 06-11-2002 08:50 AM

Yes, Sr................Still speed density. Right now I am still running the stock cam and rockers though.

I am shooting for a 13.4 @3000ft. In a month or two I am going to try and run a mild cam.

I shift at 5400 rpms.

Damn, GTSR515 not even a tenth, that sucks but I guess every little bit helps.

I was runing a Stock TB on my car and I Dare say ATLEST 15-20RWhp in higher Rpms I was going to test a 70mm on the Dyno but I ran out of time to do so...
