What's your BEST EVER street tire 60 ft. time?
And let me be a little more specific, when I say "street tire" I mean a normal non-sticky, regular old radial street rubber.
My best ever was a 1.90 |
2.03... cant get close now... to much power...
|
1.89 really light on the clutch and with southsides. I can never get below 1.95 ever again. I think the 1.89 was a fluke. Then again it was 42 degres outside and everyone was hooking good that night. So I would say on and average of a 1.95.:D
|
With stock motor with 4.10s flowmasters off road pipes on 255/60/15 1.95 60ft
|
hats off to you guys, I'm 2.243, and I really need to lower that by a few tenths.. :)
|
oh yeah... on radial T/A's... best on the kelley chargers now is a 2.13...
|
2.01 on an unprepped track with 225/60 15" cheap dunlops, and it was also still an AOD
with the T-5, i can barely get better than that with 275/50 Nitto drag radials. aww screw it, if you are really into drag racing then theres no reason to go with anything other than slicks. after just a few boltons, its pretty much pointless to run street tires at the track |

...thank you!!!:D I was thinking the same. Anything under 2.0 is VERY good IMHO:) ...for street radials, that is! gtsr515 ...where ya been, bud?? I've been living in the Benchmade forum for the past few weeks and haven't "seen" you for awhile. It feels good? to stop by MustangWorks and see what's up now that I got the stang fired up today (still some bugs to work out;)) ...take care, and did you ever get yourself a Benchmade axis-lock??? Everyone should have at least ONE. Oh, and sorry... http://forums.stangnet.com/images/smilies/offtopic.gif I'll make a legit post after I dig through my old time slips... it's probably too bad to even post:o Later... |
I have seen 1.891 on Stock 225 tires my best is a 2.045 on 245
|
ULTRAFLO...hey bud, I've been around stangworks mostly, reason I've laid of the Benchmade site is all my questions have been asked, and i really love the site, but I just don't really know much of anything about BM, so i keep my mouth shut, but I'm always looking, but not posting.
Yes anything under 2.0 is great. You can do it, and i may be crazy but, I have noticed that i can do it with a worn clutch, but a fresh one i just cant get under 2.0. Later my friend!:D |
Best I was able to get was a 2.12 on an unprepped track 225/50/16's. Normaly I was in the 2.2's.
Later, |
my best was 1.98 on 275/40/Zr17's
That was once. I ussually get about 2.1 I recently switched to Nitto drag radails, much more consistent. |
Pretty consistant 2.0 - 2.2 on street tires. Wish I could bust off a 1.8-1.9 though. :D
|
1.7 BABY..i flipped when i hit a 1.9..then i got a 1.8..then teh 1.7...this was at Island Dragway in NJ..was so sticky i HAD to do burnouts in 1st gears cuz i tryied 2nd and i burnt the clutch..and you ask what i have done suspension wise..umm..nothing..just no front sway..the million dolla question is what tire do i run..ill tell you guys cuz you mustang guys... Best I've ever done is a 2.199 on 235/45 17's then again I've only been to the track 4 times. Best true street tired 60' I've raced against was a 2.031.
Ever since I've found enough hp to go 105 I haven't had a 60' better than 2.3xx! Guess I'll keep practicing :( |
I have 2.0xx and I trap 106 I have to heat the tires up to get it in the 2.0xx tho with out I am in the 2.3-2.2

I don't think that a 1.7 60ft. is BS at all... I was looking through my old timeslips (most in the 2.0 - 2.2) and found a 1.881 on a 14.11@93.6 mph pass in 1997... on a 225/55 Michelin ...heh,heh I found a 3.05 also:D a few 1.9's too ...it's a pretty big stack of slips.
...And then I bought slicks and my first NX nitrous system and went to 1.5xx's 12.7sec on a 75hp shot and 11.7sec on a 150shot with more to come soon!! |
