Yet another head question!

My buddy has an AOD-E 95 GT, and wanted me to post some questions for the great wisdom of the MWers (will sucking up get more replies??) http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/tongue.gif

He is thinking about either AFR 165 or Twisted Wedge heads (unworked) with a Cobra intake. Which would flow better, and what is a good cam selection for an automatic?

He will also have 24#, 65mm TB, and 77MAF. He'd like to expect 300hp. What do you guys think?

As long as he invests in a stall converter, whatever he wants. I wouldn't go with high rpm heads on the stock AOD=E. What a waste. Nothing out of the hole period. Ack.

If he's stickin with the stock converter, he better at least have a shift kit and some 4.10's. Otherwise it'll hurt him more than it's worth in the outta the hole category.

since its a stock motor and an auto i would go with windsor jr's as they work well with a cobra intake. youll get the most power from those with that setup. as for a cam, stay away from motorsport cams. i would use stock with 1.7 rockers but if he needs a cam it should have around .500 lift to take advantage of the flow but small duration to keep his low end power and cyl. press. up. something around 270 adv. or 218 @ .050 . comp cams makes one that works well.

I'm with juiceman. I'd use either Windsor Jr.s or (if he's dead set on one of the above) the AFRs. But like Unit said, he's gonna need a stall converter with either one of those heads just to get out of the whole where as you wouldn't have to with the Windsors. As for the cam, anything from the Comp Cams Xtreme Energy line would work great. I personally love mine.

Go with the Trick Flows, They are the best heads for the dollar out there. As of a cam go something like a E cam or something about .520 lift with a smaller duration do to not going with a bigger stall converter. A good cam to go with would be a Comp Cam
