295 Rear rubber? What size rim/tire you run?

I heard I can fit 295's on the rear, keeping it in the fender, without any mod's. My problem is finding a rim for the job! The people around here are trying to sell me either a truck rim(18x10) or a 5 star cobra R(18x9). Well, I want a 18x10 rim, cause that's whats recommended for 295 rubber, but I want nice, ORIGINAL, 5 star chrome rims. Any advice on companys that offer what I am looking for? Or any personal prefrences? Will a 295 be much different than a 275? I plan on doing lots of mods to my car, including a supercharger. What size rims and rubber are you guys running for the mose part?

I can't speak to whether or not 295s will fit in the fenders.

I wouldn't recommend putting 295/anything/18s on a 9" rim. The side wall is very short and the tire would not seat right. Stick with the Mfgs recommendations.

295/275 not much difference, a little less than an inch of section width. Some tire Mfgs just make the grooves wider and thus no real gain in the contact patch. Do your homework. Check out TireRack.com they stock the major brands, have tons of info, specs, and owner feed back.

As for rims; there are places that will modify rims and will widen them to whatever size you want. Mega $$$$$.

I hope this helps.:D
