'65 Motor Mounts

OK guys, as part of my efforts to cure my clutch chatter / vibration problem I'm going to change out my original '65 style (vertical bolt) motor mounts and replace them with the later '66 style ones (horizontal bolt), as made by Lakewood. I have a 302 engine in my '65.

My question is will the motor mount swap raise the position of my engine? Someone told me that it would by about .5 inches. I have no underhood clearance and will have to replace the air filter pan with an aftermarket item, with less height, if the engine is raised, any suggestions on a suitable air filter. Is the change in air filter likely to restrict air intake to the engine.

Would appreciate a speedy response as I want to get the mounts on order.

When I changed the motor mounts on my car the motor did raise up a little, but I am not exactly sure how much. If you do have to change the filter go with like a K&N or Holley Power Shot filter those should work well, and just get one that will fit under the hood of your car. Both of these filters are reusable too. But I would first change the motor mounts to see if you need a new filter or not before buying one of these filters.
