What Can you Get away With in A Classic Mustang
LOL makes you think huh?
Seriously though I have heard older cars are not policed teh same as newer cars such as window tinting. However Im wondering if I have an older car frame and body but have a newer fuel injected motor and so forth would i have to go and get me emissioned checked at the classic level or the engines year? Anybody know about this as Im basically gonan put a non emmisions motor in an older msutang but use almost all my parts form my wrecked 88. Also what can i use form my 88 in suspension terms? Can I still use my rearend and all my control arms and so forth as I have quite a bit of money into parts. Anyone try to baically use everythig out of a fox body on a classic besides teh frame rails and body? I mean the years form liek 64 1/2 to 68 or 69 and 79 if it would be easier to accept my parts. |
Hell that would be nice and I'm sure it's done. Get the new cobra engine take off the mufflers and cats, nice 3' exhaust all the way back. =) That'd sound real nice. Tub out the car, remove anything that has weight to it. Remove all chrome (for weight purposes) paint in 5 different colours of primer and then take it to the track. :D

the early cars are leaf spring.. it COULD be done... but would take alot of fab work... however.. eng/trans will work.. you can evenj put the computer in....
all your stuff would bolt onto a 79-up stang... |
and you would have to pass smog for the year of the car... not the engine ;-)
