no brakes!?!
 

Hello, I would appreciate any help. I can not get the air out of the rear brake lines. I have a new master cylinder, and booster, and new rear cylinders. I put plastic over the master cylinder just to make sure that it is not leaking out the top. There are no visible leaks in the lines. The two things that in my opinion could be the broblem is dirty brake lines. Can dirty brake lines prevent the air from competely exiting the line? The other thing that I am not sure about it the new adjustable proportionig valve I bought. I have it centered, but I don't know if I put it on correctly. The two lines that go to the distribution block from the adjustable proportion valve; the one closest to the rear on the proportioning block goes "in" and the one that is nearer to the front of the dist. block, is connected to the "out" side of the adjustable p.v. Is this correct? I would appreciate any help, if anyone knows any other reasons why air is in my lines? Thank you...David

I won't be able to help you with the proportioning valve but it should have nothing to do with air in the lines. The first thing I need to ask is did you bleed the master cylinder? If this is not done or not correctly you will have to bleed the brakes several times to get the air out. The lines also should not be an issue for air, are you determining it's air because they brake pedal gets hard after pumping it?

When I bleed my brakes the first two times air will come out, and then it is all fluid. Once I try again there will be air the first two times and then straight fluid. Same thing happens every time.
My brake pedal in non-existant. With the car on it goes right to the floor.
I will try bleeding my master cylinder again and see what happens.

You should also make sure that you did not mount the brake cylinders up side down. Know it sounds funny, but air rises and if the bleeder valve is not on the top of the cylinder you will not be able to get all of the air out either. But you do HAVE to bench bleed your master cylinder before you install it. Or you will have to bleed your brakes for a long long time trying to get all of that air out. Good luck
